Symposium > Practical information

We are excited to welcome you to the beautiful city of Heraklion for the DEB2025 Symposium!

Location

The DEB2025 Symposium will take place on the University of Crete campus in Heraklion, in the Petridis amphitheatre, located in the Department of Mathematics and Applied Mathematics (view map).

Transportation

When flying to and from Heraklion Airport, the easiest way to travel is by bus or taxi. Buses run frequently, with an expected travel time of about 20 minutes between the airport and  the city center.  Astoria-Plateia Eleutherias (Liberty Square) is the first bus stop in the citycenter. Taxis are readily available outside the airport terminal and near the Plateia Eleutherias area; the ride between the city center and the airport typically takes 15–20 minutes, depending on traffic.

For transportation between the city center and the university, you may use the bus. To reach the university, take Bus No. 11 from Astoria, Plateia Eleutherias. Buses run approximately every 10 minutes in the morning, and it takes around 30 minutes to the university. The university bus stop is Panepistimio, a short walk from the Department of Mathematics.

For your return trip to the city center, take Bus No. 1 or 20 (do NOT take Bus No. 21) from the same Panepistimio bus stop.

Free parking is available on the university campus if you decide to rent a car.

All bus stops and destinations are clearly marked on the maps provided (view map).
